About Me
I am deeply committed to assisting
owners and trainers in maintaining
the wellbeing of their horses.
My aim is to reduce the physical
pain that performance and pleasure
horses experience, while supporting
a successful owner-equine partnership.
I started studying bodywork with Equine Touch in the UK in 2004, but only really built a practice after moving to Australia in 2007. For a while, I worked as an Equine Touch instructor in NSW, but soon left to go my own way. These days, I combine Equine Positional Release (a complementary approach to joint mobilisation and realignment that derives from osteopathy) with ET and underlying energy work to bring about comprehensive realignment and the restoration of free, correct movement.
Having encountered an alarmingly
high level of saddle-related
issues in the horses I work
with, I also trained with
renowned Australian saddler
Peter Horobin, who is passionate
about promoting back health
in horses through Saddlefit4Life. Learning from Peter
enabled me to complete the
‘back pain picture’. I am fortunate to continue developing my saddle fit experience with Graeme Aitkens of Aitkens Saddlery, Brisbane and am fitting his saddles in the Coffs Harbour area.
I am
kept very busy on the North coast of NSW and have
now worked with hundreds of
horses in this region. It has been enormously gratifying to set up and start running a one-day workshop on saddle fitting for horse owners that allows me to communicate my growing understanding of both bodywork and saddle fit. There is, of course, always so much more to learn! I supplement these activities with writing work, regularly contirbuting articles to the
Northern NSW and SE QLD's own horse publication,
Equine News. I have also contributed
to Hoofbeats magazine.
